Hi,
The Softaculous AMPPS Team has released AMPPS 2.3. This version of AMPPS adds the latest versions of PHP, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, etc. We have also added new features and fixed some bugs in AMPPS. AMPPS is a WAMP (Windows) and MAMP (Macintosh) stack of Apache, MySQL, MongoDB, PHP, Perl & Python. AMPPS enables you to focus more on using applications rather than maintaining them on your desktops. A complete list of changes: 1) The current version of AMPPS for Windows include: Softaculous 4.4.3 Apache 2.4.7 PHP 5.5.9, PHP 5.4.25 and 5.3.28 PERL 5.10.1 Python 2.7.2 with mod_wsgi 3.4 module MySQL 5.6.16 phpMyAdmin 4.1.7 SQLite Manager 1.2.4 MongoDB 2.4.9(Only 64-bit) RockMongo 1.1.5 FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.41 The current version of AMPPS for Mac include: Softaculous 4.4.3 Apache 2.4.7 PHP 5.5.9, PHP 5.4.25 and 5.3.28 PERL 5.14.1 Python 2.7.2 with mod_wsgi 3.4 module MySQL 5.6.15 phpMyAdmin 4.1.7 SQLite Manager 1.2.4 MongoDB 2.4.9(Only 64-bit) RockMongo 1.1.5 Pure-FTPd Server 1.0.35 2) Added a new theme "Modern" which is very flexible and can blend with the user's taste. You can choose the theme from Softaculous Admin panel > Settings and choose the theme as "Modern". Click here for guide. 3) The new theme "Modern" loads 2X faster. 4) Naming Convention changed: Softaculous AMPPS is now Softaculous. This is to avoid confusion and to deliver faster Softaculous updates. 5) Softaculous will now generate stronger random passwords for database users created during script installation. 6) Scripts in the Softaculous Enduser panel will now be sorted category wise as per the script ratings. 7) Improved the script packaging API to support more scripts. 8) Added an option to Enable/Disable generating strong MySQL Database user password (Enabled by default). 9) Added an option for sorting domains alphabetically under the "Choose Domain" dropdown on the script install form. This setting can be changed from Softaculous Enduser panel > Edit Settings page. 10) Softaculous will now use the PHP MySQLi extension if available else MySQL will be used. 11) Bug Fix : While Cloning an installation, Softaculous was unable to replace the database settings in the config file of the cloned installation if the file was not writeable. This is fixed now. 12) Bug Fix : The Backup download in Softaculous Enduser panel will now contain the Softaculous backup info file as well. 13) Bug Fix: SQLiteManager will work on PHP 5.5 now. 14) Bug Fix: Ampps.app will have a correct version. (Mac OS X only) 15) Bug Fix: PHP 5.5 was not working when GD extension was loaded. This is now fixed. (Mac OS X only) We hope you enjoy the feature(s), we will be adding many more features in the upcoming versions. Hi tidus,
Are the little problems about couchbase listed here resolved ? So the release number changed as the ampps 2.3 is also here I still don't understand Naming Convention as we have : "4) Naming Convention changed: Softaculous AMPPS is now Softaculous. This is to avoid confusion and to deliver faster Softaculous updates. " So that makes logic all what follows below but this thread title is still ampps alone, and ampps and softaculous have to be distinguished by a different name. "5) Softaculous will now generate stronger random passwords for database users created during script installation. 6) Scripts in the Softaculous Enduser panel will now be sorted category wise as per the script ratings. 10) Softaculous will now use the PHP MySQLi extension if available else MySQL will be used. Hi tidus,
Quote Are the little problems about couchbase listed here resolved ? Yes. So the release number changed as the ampps 2.3 is also here Quote I still don't understand Naming Convention as we have : "4) Naming Convention changed: Softaculous AMPPS is now Softaculous. This
is to avoid confusion and to deliver faster Softaculous updates. " So that makes logic all what follows below but this thread title is still ampps alone, and ampps and softaculous have to be distinguished by a different name. Before: AMPPS : 2.2 Softaculous AMPPS : 2.5 (This was same Softaculous 4.3.3 and previously we launched "Softaculous AMPPS" version 2.3 and not "AMPPS") Softaculous : 4.3.3 Now: AMPPS : 2.3 Softaculous : 4.4.3 AMPPS is the Stack with Control Center to Start/Stop the servers. And Softaculous is an auto-installer i.e Enduser/Admin Panel provided for AMPPS Softaculous is included in AMPPS Stack. So the Name Apache MySQL PHP Perl Softaculous Quote "5) Softaculous will now generate stronger random passwords for database users created during script installation. When user installs a script Softaculous creates a database and the user for it. Random Password is applied to the db user, which will be stronger now. Quote 6) Scripts in the Softaculous Enduser panel will now be sorted category wise as per the script ratings. Scripts listed in the left side of the screen will be listed rating wise. Code 10) Softaculous will now use the PHP MySQLi extension if available else MySQL will be used Softaculous supports PHP 5.5 now. So all the mysql connections are done through mysqli. ----------------------- Follow AMPPS on, Twitter : https://twitter.com/AMPPS_Stack Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/softaculousampps Google+ : https://plus.google.com/+AmppsStack |
