Topic : Silverstripe presents MySQL Error No : 1064 when trying to install

Hey guys,

I ran across an issue that happens when you try and install Silverstripe through Softaculous. The install gets 10% through and then throws the error MySQL Error No : 1064

I was able to replicate this on a customers server as well as a test VM.  When I tried to install the software manually, everything went through. I have attached some screen shots for you as well.

Hi,

It seems cptest.com does not point to your server. When you install SilverStripe via Softaculous and your server's cPanel 3rd party PHP version is less than 5.3, we create a file under our domain and access that file via CURL to generate the password hash because the password encryption method used by SilverStripe requires PHP 5.3+
Since your domain is not accessible the password was not generated properly causing the issue.

When you install SilverStripe manually you accessed the domain via User MOD dir i.e. http://YOUR_IP/~USERNAME hence you were able to install the script.

You need to login to your WHM goto Plugins -> Softaculous -> Settings and select the checkbox "Use USER MOD DIR" and click on "Edit Settings". You will now see the mod dir under the "Choose Domain" dropdown select that and then install SilverStripe and it should work fine.

Please let us know if you still face the issue.

Hi,

Aaron logged the issue on my behalf as a Cpanel user - I can confirm that the fix you have suggested works.

However, I was interested that you mentioned about the 3rd party PHP - I have version 5.4.24 in use, so unsure why that didn't solve the issue - any ideas?

Regards

Hi,

Is your cPanel 3rd party PHP version 5.4.24 ? Or is it the frontend PHP ?
You can check the 3rd party PHP version using the following command via Terminal :
Code
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php -v

Hi,

I've just checked using that command - PHP 5.4.23 as well (see attachment).....that's what is confusing is that if I create a new user on Cpanel, it will let me install Silverstripe without the mod User selection without issue - but with this single domain I have, if I install it for that, it fails on the script (but works OK with the workround) - I have deleted the user account and created it again, but some issue is repeated...

Strange...but the mod user did solve it...what do you think is going wrong with the script?

Hi,

Does the domain of the new user created point to that server ? I mean are the DNS correct ?
It does not work with the current user and works with the MOD Dir because the DNS of this user are not set.

Hi,
All checked - all the DNS records (inc A for @ and www) are going to the local host.
