I had Softaculous install WP on my site. At one point, the site became hopelessly screwed up. I removed all files using Filezilla. The server now has the name of the URL, with nothing inside.
I went back to Softacuous [from Hostgator] to reinstall a fresh copy of WP. softacuous shows the previous installation, and a warning that the install files are missing [that is correct, I removed them]. Given that, Soft will not reinstall WP.
how do I edit the Soft files to remove any evidence of the previous install so it will do another install? I can't move forward, OR backward!

Hi,

You can remove the installation from Softaculous records using the following guide :
https://www.softaculous.com/docs/enduser/how-to-remove-installation-without-deleting-files/

Then you can install a new copy of WordPress.
