For most of the php scripts Softaculous gives an option of choosing
http
https
http www
etc

1.How can I change to https or http afterwards from http or https ? is there any knowledgebase article or tutorial how this thing can be manually done if a script is installed manually rather than via Softaculous.
2. When https is chosen, the site is shown as a secure site with letsencrypt BUT there seems to be limited time validity of this (valid from x month to y month) or is it actually unlimited time ?

Hi,

1. You can use the edit installation page in Softaculous to edit the URL of your installation :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/How_to_edit_an_installation

However this will only edit the Softaculous records and will not update the URL in script installation. You will need to update that manually. The location where you need to update the URL depends on which script you are using. Some scripts store the URL in database and some store it in the configuration file.

Which script are you using ? We will provide you the steps to update it accordingly.

2. The certificates issued via Lets Encrypt are not for unlimited time. They need to be renewed when they are about to expire.
