Is it possible to have the header only display on the home page?

yes, that didn't work. I think it needs to be done with code.

There is a difference between a menu and the row with a header present below the menu. You cannot remove the menu, but you can remove a line with a header section. You do that by selecting the delete icon at the very top left of the line section with the header
