Topic : Upgrading MySQL to 5.7.8

Posted By: dxhans5 on January 27, 2017, 3:08 am
I have been using Ampps with no problems at all for some time. I recently started a project that is utilizing new MySQL data types from 5.7.8 for instance the json datatype. I see that the mysql version in the latest Ampps is 5.6.31

What is the best way to upgrade MySQL in Ampps without destroying everything else?

Anyone got any suggestions on being able to upgrade the MySQL in AMPPS?

I am also curious about this.

@dxhans5, could you finally upgrade MySQL to 5.7.x?

I need to upgrade to mysql 8.0 to use some of the newer sql features like lag() and lead().  Is there any way to do this?
