One license, multiple virtualization? (3 Replies, Read 7720 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 21 Status:	Hello, i have not used Virtualizor yet and i have OpenVZ VPSs now and i would like to use Virtualizor to manage these and also Virtualizor be able to create KVM or XEN VPS's. I am not against converting OpenVZ VPS's to other virtualization. What are options please so i manage my existing VPS's let Virtualizor create KVM or XEN VPSs? i am on this page http://www.virtualizor.com/wiki/Main_Page#Installation_and_Usage and i do not know what to install. Currently i have trial license. Thank You

Group: Virtualizor Team Post Group: Elite Member Posts: 419 Status:	Hi, Sir as you mentioned you have OpenVZ containers that means you have installed OpenVZ on your server. You can install Virtualizor on your server. Using the follwing guide : http://virtualizor.com/wiki/Install_OpenVZ After that you will be able to craete/manage OpenVZ containers using Virtualizor panel. Reagrding creation of KVM and Xen VMs, you can create KVM VMs on OpenVZ node by enabling multivirt in Virtualizor. Please go through the following guide : http://virtualizor.com/wiki/Multi_Virtualization We recommend you to create a seperate node for KVM and Xen and add them as slave server. So that your OpenVZ server will become Master server and you can create All type of VMs from Master server only. I think this is good solution. Issue in my case is that i do not want to spend too much money for 2 dedicated servers :( this one is already enough large for me, would be nice if i can use Multi Virtualization on one server, but there is the issue mentioned above.

Group: Virtualizor Team Post Group: Elite Member Posts: 419 Status:	Hi, Sir this might be due to KVM kernel. Due to this we do not recommend this solution to our users.
