Hi there,
i love ampps, it's great for development on my local machine but there is one thing I would like to do and I can't figure out if I can do it or not..

I would like to be able to either edit Apache's default virtualhost tempalte (that gets used every time a new domain is added) or at least append something to each vhost.

The main reason being, I would like to specify an alias that utilises XIP.io this allows the development website to be shared across my network without the need to edit the hosts file. It also allows me to easily check the site on devices that I can't realistically edit the hosts file on, such as iPhones, iPads etc

thanks

Disappointed to see now response from the devs of MPPS ..
If anyone else is looking to do the same, I have now moved to using http://www.uwamp.com/en/ instead. Whilst it doesn't have the slick features of AMPPS it does allow me to use xip.io which is more important for multi-device testing.

If the AMPPS devs bring in the (simple) feature to allow us to configure our own virtualhosts, I'll move back. Until then, I'm very happy with uwamp

Maybe I'm missing something here, but commenting out the default Include httpd-vhosts.conf and replacing it with your-own.conf does work.

I have multiple virtualhosts running with different IP, SSL Settings, and Paths, all within my your-own.conf.

It is pretty well documented how to do this. Perhaps I am missing something as I said.

Hi imlaurie,

We will try to include this feature. At the moment you can try solution which is suggest by merlin_it.
You can also add Domain from http://localhost/ampps/index.php?act=ampps_domainadd and you can access that domain from another local machine.
