Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 39 Status:	all installs done via Softaculous. all backups done via Softaculous. inmotionhosting.com is my host. my account is Pro Plan which allows 1 Primary Domain and 24 Add-on Domains. softaculous (seems to work fine on my Add-on Domains) when i go to "Application Installs" and click on yellow icon "Backup". the blue progress bar completes and my add-on domains backup file size is from 10M to 44M (i have 24 add-on domain sites) BUT BUT BUT when i backup my Primary Domain (which does NOT have its own sub directory in public_html, this backup does NOT complete the blue bar. the blue bar goes to 95% and no more progress even after 35 minutes. this is a wordpress site, aireraft.com i close the screen. i see in Cpanel softaculous_backups that a directory for the backups is there but i believe aireraft.com (primary domain) are all corrupted backups because the file sizes are not the same and files size is 1.6G and the blue bar stops at 95% and does not complete. see attachment. the red lines show backups today, all did NOT complete, stopped at 95% blue bar. the green line backups are from last week, i'm not sure if these are complete or corrupt. i thought the blue bar completed last week? but now i'm not sure? HELP!

Group: Softaculous Team Post Group: Super Member Posts: 5652 Status:	Hi, Sir if the backup is listed on the Backups page in Softaculous it was completed successfully. Also the backup of primary domain is over 1.6 GB because when you backup the primary domain it will backup the complete public_html which will include all your addon domains as well. Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 39 Status:	hi brijesh, okay, no one at inmotionhosting could explain why the primary domain backup file was so large in size. thank you for explaining. since i closed the browser window while the blue bar was stuck on 95%, how do i know if the backup file is actually complete and not corrupt?

Primary Domain is installed with softaculous. 2. many Add-on Domains installed with softaculous 3. softaculous backup of Primary Domain actually take ALL files in public_html (thus all Add-on Domains too). 4a. does the Primary Domain backup actually have ALL files included necessary to backup ALL Add-on domains? 4b. this is good information to know in case an Add-on domain backup is lost. the Add-on domain could be saved/retrieved/recovered from the Primary Domain backup if a softaculous customer is desperate!

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 39 Status:	Cpanel>File Manager please see attachment image. right now i only download from hosting server to my desktop pc. i download these files for an off-server backup copies of my softaculous sites. the only files i download are in the directory "softaculous_backups" should i also download the entire directory ".softaculous" ? anyone more files/directories i should download to have complete softaculous restore capability from desktop pc to host server? thank YOU!

You will receive an email once the backup is complete. It states that the backup was successful or the backup failed. Also if the backup is listed on the backups page it was successful. The primary domain backup will include all the files of all the addon domains however it will not include the databases of the addon domains. Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 39 Status:	i did a restore of the primary domain and softacualous bar stayed at 95% for about 20 min. then i got a "Return to Overview" but NO "Successful" message and no email sent. i did a restore of an addon domain and got successful message and i got an email. please see attachments. the background color for my primary domain is wrong. it's the color it was about 6 days ago when i changed it to a new color. this is the only way i can tell it seems the restore did not work?

If you allow us can we try to restore the primary domain on your server. Please let us know which backup should we restore. Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 39 Status:	hi brijesh, i decided i DO NOT want to do a restore on my Primary Domain. so i feel i'm lucky the restore seems it did not work. as you know, i have allowed Softaculous techs into my Cpanel before. i will allow Softacualous tech in my account now but DO NOT RESTORE PRIMARY DOMAIN. i wish you can go in and see if the Rstore i did on primary domain...if any files were actually restored? but DO NOT RESTORE my Primary or Add-on Domains. all my sites are working. my Primary Domain seems to only have the wrong Background color (brown). i changed the Background color to green about 10 days ago but no other changed to the site. for me, since i don't understand how Softaculous Primary Domain Restore might replace public_html files of the Add-on Domains... just too dangerous to effect 20 other add-on domain sites. so Softaculous Techs can go into my Cpanel to investigate if my previous Primary Domain Restore replaced any files (and then failed as above images imply). but DO NOT run Softaculouss Restore command. there is some confusion at Inmotionhosting whether they have a good backup copy of my account. by now, they might have a bad backup of my account so there is nothing to a Full Data Restoration of my account if something goes wrong. it is too risky right now to be modifying my files. that's why i cancel doing a Primary Domian Restore. if feel lucky and hope my last restore failed. Brijesh, you have to give me your word that you and/or techs only look into my account to look what happened. you CANNOT do a resotore, then i will give you my new password. thank you!

Group: Softaculous Team Post Group: Super Member Posts: 5652 Status:	Hi, When you backup an installation in public_html folder i.e. primary domain by default Softaculous will backup all the sub-directories in public_html folder as well. You can choose the files/directories that you want to associate with this particular installation from the edit installation page as explained in the guide below : https://softaculous.com/docs/Choose_Additional_Files/Folders After selecting the files/folders choose "Yes" from the "Use above selected files/folders for Backup" dropdown and save the installation details. Now when you backup the installation it will only backup the files related to your installation. Group: Softaculous Team Post Group: Super Member Posts: 5652 Status:	Hi, Until the backup is listed in the backups section of Softaculous do not consider the backup as completed. Once the backup is completed you can restore it from the Backups page. Here is the guide for the same : https://softaculous.com/docs/How_to_Restore_a_Backup 37 GB installation can take time to backup/restore. If there is a timeout for cPanel process it could be that before Softaculous could complete the backup process, the process was killed.
