Softaculous website internal linking code, structuring links while in Softaculous (1 Replies, Read 2390 times)

I'm doing a make over of an existing website using the Softaculous platform in Namecheaps Cpanel and I have a technical question regarding internal linking.

With the makeover I'm doing on the site, I'm changing some of the content and also refreshing/adding many internal links.

My question is: when I put a new link in, do I always start the link with staging.

For example; staging.mywebsite.com.au/how-to-tie-knots

e.i. (link from one site page to another internal page)

What my point is; when I transfer the site from staging to live, what happens to the 'staging.' part of the link, does that drop off?

Or, when I put a new link in while the site is still on the staging platform should I not bother with the 'staging.' part of the link?

Or, leave the 'staging.' part in and after transferring the site to live, go back in and remove the 'staging.' part of the link.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

You can use the links as staging.mysite.com and while pushing the site to live Softaculous will replace the URLs staging.mysite.com with mysite.com so it will work on both staging and live site.
