Topic : Can't update php beyond 5.6 - Mac Mojave

Hi,
Just like the title says. I am unable to update the php version to 7.0 or 7.1.
I will try to tell you what steps I've taken.
  • The AMPPS app that appears like a digital hand-held device in the lower corner of my screen tells me I'm running
  • Apache
  • PHP 5.6
  • MySQL
  • PureFTPd
  1. When I click the gear icon for PHP, I can select one of the other icons like Extensions, Restore Default Configuration, and Configuration.
  2. When I click on Configuration, sometimes nothing happens. Sometimes I can try to upgrade the php.
  3. I select 7.0 and then wait for the update to run its course, which it never does.
  4. When that happens, I have to exit out of AMPPS and restart it.
  5. When I am logged in to AMPPS and go to this address in my browser:localhost/ampps/index.php?ind=php-------I see this prompt to update...
Quote
Apps Update is available for PHP 7.1,  PHP 7.0,
  • So I update both PHP versions, typing in my password, and then am told it's successful, only to see the same prompt again, as if I had not just updated the PHP.<br/>
There's a disconnect happening here. I don't know how to troubleshoot it further or fix it.  I'm running this on Mac Mojave.  Anyone else able to do this on their Macs?  I'd love to hear how you did it.
Thanks!  Sheila

Attaching a screenshot here. When I click on the icon marked in the purple box, I sometimes get nothing; I sometimes am shown a screen to 'update' the php version (though this has never worked).
