Hi,

I'm launching a website with webuzo panel that I plan to promote heavily. I expect 10,000 active users at the same time. Resources wise, the server can handle it, but I'm worried that there are limits in the LAMP stack installed as I found the default max_connections for MYSQL is 150 and I don't know if there are other limits like in apache or PHP configuration for example.

I know that concurrent users is not equal to concurrent connections as connections last only for 1 second or few milliseconds if code is well but worried that the stack is configured to enforce limits even if the server resources can handle more.

Are there configurations that need to be made to force the stack to use the maximum resources of the server?

Thanks
Regards
Michael

Hi butlimous,

Please be rest assured your default Apache and PHP configuration can handle 10K traffic to your website easily .

There should be no hiccup in performance , if you still want to optimize them to your custom config you can search for optimization techniques most webmasters use .

MySQL at default config can very easily handle 10K connections if even concurrent ,  the range that MySQL can handle is very large so need to worry on that.

Regarding MYSQL the default max connections is 150 so how it can handle 10k concurrent connections?

Thanks

Hi butlimous,

What i meant by that there very low probability that you will face any bottle neck even with 10 k connection.

Instead of setting max connections to an high value consider tuning your mysql to your requirement as there so many factors(eg :slow query) that can cause bottle neck and not max connections alone .
