Topic : Could not connect to MySQL after transfer

Posted By: webuzohosting on April 8, 2014, 2:02 pm
After transfering my VPS to another location I have problems with Backup of installed scripts.I transfered the site following Webuzo to Webuzo migration tutorial.Web sites are working, but I had some issues with MySQL and managed to fix them but still got this message after trying to Backup installations.

The following errors were found :

  • Could not connect to database, please check the Username/Password of your database. If changed, please update the details in Softaculous installations using Edit Details.
I cheked Username and Password and everything seems to be OK.
I noticed that I can backup only NEW script installations (installed on this new VPS),but not the old (transfered) ones.
How to fix this?

Try to login to the MySQL server with the credentials used for the installations.

Click on Edit installation to view the database details.

I already done that. And everythings look fine, but there is no way to Backup TRANSFERED installations.

I logged in to PHPMyAdmin with user and password from "Edit details".I cheked config files of my sites and everything is OK.Same username and same passwords as those shown at "Edit details" page.

Import the script to Webuzo and you can manage the backups with ease !!!

Installations are Imported (that was done just after setting up VPS and transfering sites) as you can see in attachment but still no luck with backup.

Change the host to "127.0.0.1" instead of "localhost".

Hope it helps :)
