Hello. I am a relative newbie with this.
I have used AMPPS to create a domain (mywebsite.dev) and install WordPress on that domain. The process went smoothly, but when I try to visit mywebsite.dev the connection times out (Chrome error ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT).
During one of my tries, it spun long enough to load the bare html of my site (no css), but that only happened once. All the other times it timed out and loaded nothing.
I have verified that /etc/hosts has been updated with a new entry:
127.0.0.1 mywebsite.dev
I have also done a traceroute which gave this:
traceroute to mywebsite.dev (127.0.0.1), 64 hops max, 72 byte packets
1 localhost (127.0.0.1) 0.326 ms 0.049 ms 0.031 ms
I have verified that Apache and MySQL are running through the AMPPS dashboard.
I used to use MAMP but I have uninstalled that so I don't think that could be causing this.
If anyone has any advice that would be really appreciated. Thanks.
