Hello,

I just downloaded AMPPS for Mac and everything worked fine (local sites, wordpress, etc.).

But then I restarted my Mac (OS X El Capitan). AMPPS started automatically on system start, and it shows that Apache is on (MySQL is off though).

I visited localhost and the AMPPS root listing page is gone, "It works!" is showing instead. All my other local sites under "www" folder is returning 404 not found.

I tried hitting the restart button for Apache, but it's not working.

How do I fix this?

Sincerely,

Leo

Hi leotse89,

Please check is there another of version of Apache and MySQL is installed on your machine or not.

Open Terminal, run following command and check its shows /Applications/AMPPS path or not.

which httpd
which mysqld

If path is from /usr/bin or /usr/sbin or /usr/local then it means default Apache and MySQL is installed on that location.

To resolve this issue you have to remove default Apache and MySQL.

Temporary solution is open Terminal and run following command 2-3 times to turn off process and then immediately restart Ampps Apache and MySQL.

sudo killall httpd (run 2-3 times)
sudo killall mysqld (run 2-3 times)
