Hi

I dont have a license atm, I have kloxo on my VPS and was waiting on that version.

I only have Softaculos on my reseller account.

Alons, if you want popularity, then you need to sort out the bugs first and make sure it works on the widest possible cPanel configurations possible.

We are doing that since day one and will continue to do that.
I appreciate your concern, likeing and anger from our movement.

But its a move to improve Softaculous as well.

Out of the 1187 servers Softaculous is installed and working on there is errors reported on 36 servers. We are working on solutions and each version we release improves Softaculous tremedously.

Softaculous discarded the use of shell_exec for importing databases which solved 90% of the problems on servers then. Fantastico still uses shell_exec for importing mysql files.

Softaculous uses cPanels and Direct Admins latest API. Fantastico doesnt.
Also we update scripts much faster than Fantastico. We try to update within 2 days and faster. I guess you know their speed!

We maintain 100 scripts!
So my question to you is why is Softaculous any inferior to Fantastico by quality ?

We respect all auto installers as well. But we have a Policy that whatever we try to do will be new and we will always work to make it the industry standard.
Please let me know how are we inferior to them in any respect.

Free version is out.
Anyone installing Softaculous without purchasing a license after 27th August 2009 1:00 PM will be a FREE License user. You dont need to do anything for a free license.

All servers running Softaculous till 27th August 2009 1:00 PM are given Premium Status till 31 December 2010 more than 1 year and 4 months from now.
We also give them a discount to convert to lifetime license only @ $24. Generally a lifetime license will cost you $150 but we are giving them this huge discount for supporting Softaculous.

I think it's ok with that prices. $12/year for VPS license it's cheap for me.
Actually I have no problem with Softculous instalation script coz, mostly the errors have found from my system component who never install before. like curl, pdo_mysql. now, after I have rebuild my apache therefore softaculous have running well and smooth :D .

I like this auto installer coz, they have many script then others.

I think this move to premium is great not a problem, i only have two questions.

1. What 58 scripts are included in the free version, we need to know this so we can promote the differences from the free version to the premium version to our clients.

2. Can the yearly license be moved between servers, if i sell premium to a vps customer and they leave for whatever reason i want to be able to transfer that license to a new server with a new customer. Having to be a new yearly license for each new customer if i have stale ones because a customer left is going not be costly.

Softaculous is very secure.
We have ironed out all kinds of bugs long ago.

I think this is just a surprise too most users.

The fact still remains that Softaculos is far superior too the alternatives, and the prices are very good.

I have never had many problems with Softaculos, and when I have they have been sorted very promptly.

I couldn't get logged into the client area, when I enter my UN/PW and click enter it just stares at me. Never logs in. Is it my browser or ?

I hope you guys plan to continue support after college! Be my luck you 3 will turn into dentists or something :)

I will go with dedicated server lifetime license when I get logged in.
