So according to the blog entry over here, there should be an option to enable website downloads in Settings... But when I access settings, there does not appear to be such an option:

Am I looking in the right place, or is there something else going on?

Hi,

There are two models of SitePad :
1. SitePad plugin is installed on your server, in this case you will see the SitePad option in your control panel itself. In this case the download option is disabled by default and the admin can enable it form SitePad admin panel.

2. SitePad plugin is not installed, so you will get an option to use SitePad from Softaculous enduser panel. In this case the download option is disabled in Free version of SitePad, once you upgrade to the premium version of SitePad you will get the Download site option.

In your case you are using the second model so you will need to upgrade to the premium version of SitePad.

Do let us know if you have any questions.

Ah okay, this explains thing a little better...

I don't mind paying for a subscription - at the end of the day, you're a business and need to make money... Plus, having the incentive of being able to download your website is enough to convince me to subscribe (the inability to do this with "Wix" is quite literally the reason I decided a subscription with them).

I do think this stance should be explained a little better within SitePad though - from what I can see, SitePad for endusers doesn't appear to mention this at all, and the blog entry I linked to does not mention that this is the case... If you want your users to subscribe, then this is one of those features you might want to mention.

"Against".

The inability to do this with "Wix" is quite literally the reason I decided against a subscription with them.

Hi,

Sure we understand it is not stated clearly.

We will update the plans page to mention that the downloads option will be available in the premium version of SitePad enduser model.

Thank you for bringing this to our notice.

Has the download option been removed from the 'new' version of SitePad?

I recently moved from the 'old' version of SitePad to the 'new' version, and again the "download" button appears to be missing...
