Backup limit per user, Limit for local and remote (11 Replies, Read 91173 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 44 Status:	Hello, We had some issues with some customers that setup automatic backup without any limit. So we put a limit on 5 as shown in screenshot. It has worked fine, but now we have a couple of customers that has setup remote backup trough Softaculous to GDrive and Dropbox. But this setting is also used for remote backup. Could you please remove this limit or even better, get a setting for setting limit to remote backups??

But I would like to know if a limit can be set only for the remote backups that will be independent from the local ones. What I mean if is I set, for exemple : Maximum backups per user (Local & Remote) : unlimited (or 25 for exemple) Maximum backups per user (Local) : 3 It means that I can only make 3 backups locally and unlimted or any number of backups remotely? In the end, my problem is that my web host is limiting all backups to a maximum of 3 actually and I would like to ask them to remove this limitation to remote backups only (and keep the local backup limit to 3) if the new settings can permit it. Thanks!

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 4 Status:	I forgot to ask, but is it also possible to increase the backup rotation limit for remote backups independently of local backups like for the new backup limit option? My host is also limiting the number of backup rotation to 1 so that's why I ask. At least I can script on the remote side to keep more backups if I want but it would be a useful option to add if it don't exist currently.

So I've just come across your release notes for version 5.3.4 of Softaculous : Quote 3) [Feature]: Added “Maximum backups per user (Local)” setting in Softaculous admin panel to restrict the maximum number of backups a user can create on the local server. The old setting “Maximum backups per user (Local & Remote)” can be used to restrict total number of backups irrespective of the location on which backup is done. So I suppose it answers my question to the first of my two previous posts. I suppose you can set the settings like so to be able to do unlimited amount of remote backups : Maximum backups per user (Local) : 3 Maximum backups per user (Local) : unlimited (or unset?)

No, this is not working. With this setting customer can only make 5 local and 5 remote backups. As you see, these settings are not working as they should. I guess you just wrongfully set the wrong text and that it's a bug? We want customer to be able to take 5 local and unlimited remote. Only way to do that is set unlimited for both, then local is also unlimited.

Please set "Maximum backups per user (Local & Remote)" to Unlimited. And set "Maximum backups per user (local)" to 5 This will allow users to make only 5 backups on local server while unlimited backups on Remote server.
