Topic : Wrong date/time while server is correct

Posted By: Richard on October 20, 2019, 4:17 pm
Hello.
My servers date.timezone is set to Europe/Amsterdam in all php.ini's of cPanel. The server time is also set to the same:[codelrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 38 2018-04-09 15:28 localtime -> ../usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Amsterdam[/code]
However, output of the server and cpanel both show:Sun Oct 20 18:15:14 CEST 2019
while Softaculous main page shows:
All times are GMT +1. The time now is October 20, 2019, 5:15 pm.

Europe/Amsterdam is currently still using daylight saving so this should read 06.15 PM. There is no way to change this.

This is with softaculous 5.3.0.

Can this be fixed please?

Hi,

Unfortunately at the moment Softaculous does not handle Daylight saving.

We will fix this soon.

For immediate to handle this you can change the timezone to GMT +2.

I understand this is not an ideal solution however we will fix this in Softaculous to handle Daylight saving.

Thank you for confirming it's indeed a Softaculous issue.
Due to the fact that the servers are live production shared hosting services, it's no option to change the timezone to an incorrect timezone. Because only Softaculous has the wrong time, all other applications have the correct time.
Maybe it's a good idea to have softaculous just read the server's time? Or add an option for admins to choose the timezone, or read the php.ini's timezone?
Anyway, thank you for confirming. As for us the problem is temporarily fixed as of next week, because daylightsavings with stop again on the 27th.

Hi,

I was referring to change the timezone in Softaculous and not the server timezone. You can change the timezone for Softaculous from Softaculous admin panel -> Settings page.

Thank you.It seems it was unclear that I had set the timezone in Softaculous correctly.
At this moment, without making any changes, the date and time is correct. But at this moment, daylight savings are not in effect anymore.

So this prooves that Softaculous timezone setting does not keep track of daylight savings when time changes +1 our.
Something is wrong on the forums here too. You replied October 23th. And I got the email notification today, which is a fat 2 months later. :)

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in resolving this.

We have released Softaculous 5.4.2 yesterday which now supports DST.

Do let us know if you still face the issue.
