For several month, we have been receiving this email notification from Softaculous:

Quote
Failed : Automatic Backup of your WordPress installation

The automatic backup of your WordPress installation did not complete successfully.
The details are as follows :
Installation Path : /home/domain/public_html
Installation URL : https://www.domain.com
Backup Path : NA

The following error occured :
invalid_grant : Bad Request
invalid_grant : Bad Request
Invalid Credentials
invalid_grant : Bad Request
invalid_grant : Bad Request
Invalid Credentials
401 : Invalid Credentials

We've been getting this message for sevevral of our WP installations from different domains, on different cPanel accounts. All of them are on my personal Google Drive account.

I have to go back to Softaculous, recreate a backup destination for the drive. This has be very time consumming.

And know, I'm not even able to recreate a Google Drive backup location, as you can see in this screen recording.

  1. How can a resolve this issue that I need to go back in Softaculous every week to delete/recreate the backup location?
  2. Any clue on how I could resolve the time out error in my screen recording?

Thanks!
Phet

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

It seems for some reason the authorization for Google Drive added in Softaculous while adding backup location is being deleted for some reason.

Google Drive does have a maximum limit of apps/authorizations that can be used at a time. So if you are using Google Drive as an option for multiple applications the old ones will get unauthorized automatically.

If you can open a support ticket with us we can check this for you.

Thanks for the reply.

When you say:

What do you mean by "applications"? Do you consider multiple WordPress installations, each individual install as an application?

We manage alot of cPanels, that has each a WordPress install. These install are all backed up by Softaculous, on the same Google Drive account.

Where can I go to create a suppor ticket? Softaculous was bot from bought from our Hosting provider.

Hi,

By multiple applications I mean when you authorize an app to access Google Drive by logging in, it creates a key for authentication. If you are allowing this multiple times at multiple places it will lead to multiple keys and the old keys will start to get unauthorized automatically.

Hmmm...

Sounds like that's the issue I'm having. I have over 80 WP installs, on more then 70 cPanels. They all use Softaculous...

Do you know any work around to use Google Drive, with this in mind?

Thanks again for the help.
