Hi,
Yes. There is an issue with the Amupdate.app Can I know the reason to run it ? Running the cron command did not work for me either - I get the error

I had the same error message:
Site error: the file /Applications/AMPPS/ampps/softaculous/cron.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_dar_5.5.so to be installed by the website operator. If you are the website operator please use the ionCube Loader Wizard to assist with installation. So I put PHP back to 5.3 and restore all the setting to the default, run the script again, my computer did some stuff for quite some time. Then when I go to http://localhost/ampps-admin/ I get that I am running the latest version Current Version 4.5.4, but my desktop icon seems not to agree with that. Every time I start AMPPS from my desktop, I get "new version is available" and the problem is still the same, and PHP 5.6 isn't available in my PHP version choices. |

Sorry for the inconvenience. We are working on this issue and so we have disabled update on Mac. We will enable it soon as soon as the issue is fixed. BTW, ionCube Loader is present only for PHP 5.3 so if you want to Run cron, You can run: "/Applications/AMPPS/php-5.3/bin/php" -c "/Applications/AMPPS/php-5.3/etc/php.ini" "/Applications/AMPPS/ampps/softaculous/cron.php" Well, currently running cron is not required.
