The web hosting industry (particularly for cPanel) needs a good block level backup system asap! :)

There will be a new version this month. There has been delays in the software. We will be speeding up development as one major bug is almost fixed.]]>

We have launched nuCDP 0.9.8 and are now moving ahead fast to reach a stable version.
If you are interested to Beta Test nuCDP, you can start by installing nuCDP :
http://www.nucdp.com/wiki/Category:Install

You will need to have a seperate server to do the backups.
The server which will be storing the backups is called the nuCDP Server and the server which is being backed up is called the nuCDP Client / Device.

At the moment only Linux OS are supported and the Windows version should be making a debut soon.

Major changes since 0.9.8 :
- Retentions have been improved immensely and the Disk I/O is 20 times more efficient than the previous versions
- Users can now download files directly as a Zip as an alternative to restore
- Progress bar in tasks have been implemented.
- Control Panels on OpenVZ will now be able to run the nuCDP Plugin
- Permissions have been implemented
- Client Version can be checked with : cli -v
- A monitoring service has been added to ensure that the nuCDP server and client are always running
- nuCDP Client the MySQL library has been updated.
- Logout : Session were not deleted but was cleaned by the session GC. This is now fixed.
- Multi User Login failed because of Randstr() not working. This is now fixed.

NOTE : nuCDP Server and Client are in the Beta Stage and should not be used on a production server. We have made various tests on different kernels of CentOS 5, 6, CloudLinux 5 and 6, Redhat 5 and 6. Though we have found no issues, we still recommend that the software is not stable and it may fail to backup due to unknown bugs. We should be entering the stable stage soon though.

Regards,
The nuCDP Team
