A free website migration was offered by the new host when I recently switched hosts. They duplicated my WordPress site, but Softaculous does not have it (which is available on cpanel). I did some research on this after noticing that Softaculous had an import feature. I'm a little anxious even though it seems simple enough. Will importing replace my current website? Or does it create a backup so that, in the event that something terrible happens, I can link my domain back to the earlier, non-Softaculous installation? Do I delete the current copy (which is in the root folder) after importing to Softaculous, or does Softaculous use the files in that folder?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

When you remote import your site the old site files should not be present else you will see an error that the files already exists.

You can take a backup of your old site then use Remote Import to import the site and it all good you have the new site live. If you find anything wrong you can restore the site anytime from the backup.
