Topic : slow running wordpress

Posted By: macs86 on December 19, 2017, 6:41 pm
Hi! I just installed AMPPS for the first time to help me develop the site a bit faster as i have significant load times over the net. Im using wordpress with quite a few plugins (i must admit!!). Im finding that the load times are really pretty slow (10+ seconds often). This is actually significantly slower than over the net (im guessing because my host uses a php accelerator and varnish). I am surprised at how slow it is and i was wondering if anybody had any tips or ideas. (PS i deactivated all the plugins and it got a lot faster, so i know that is part of the trouble!) but its still slower than i would expect.

Any thoughts would be very welcome.

Thanks

The primary causes for a slow WordPress website are: Web Hosting – When your web hosting server is not properly configured it can hurt your website speed. Page Size – Mainly images that aren't optimized for web. Bad Plugins – If you're using a poorly coded plugin, then it can significantly slow down your website.
