Hello, I installed this software no problem. I was able to log in and use the built in script installer for an easy install. I find this great. But I noticed an issue I don't know how to disable. It seems like who ever hits my server ip or domain with a url that don't exist. The server stops responding. Like if you go back to the root dir. All you get in browser is website found waiting for reply, then I hit reset on apache then the browser right away loads the page fine until. I or someone else misspells a url or file and its not found :(  Besides this issue it works great and I would like very much to keep using this software.any ideas? Thanks!

That above post did not help me even with the service off. Apache starts fine and runs for a few mins to one hour then the http requests don't get send, the web browser gets stuck at waiting for reply. even from the localhost trying to access the AMMPS web controls :( I used all default settings and I have disabled the windows firewall just to see if that was the issue and still no go.

Hi,

Can you attach the apache error logs here. Please attach the file instead of pasting whole log here.

Ampps\apache\logs\error.log, Ampps\apache\logs\error.err & Ampps\apache\logs\<your-domain>.err

Your DNS server isn't able to resolve hostname, it seems. Please check if dns server is properly configured.

this would cause ramdom http requests to pass and sometimes not? I also try to bypass domain by going to http://myip but it still acts the same.

I use a dedicated server. And the host never gave me any more ip infos. So I just use 8.8.8.8 as dns

any know of a dns i could use or do i need to contact my hosting?
thanks

Sorry we wont be able to help you much with DNS configuration. Also AMPPS is recommended for development purpose(localhost) only.

Ok, I done with you told me took the server off the public net for what ever that would do....... And I am getting the same results on the local network. Even the windows 7 computer running the servers, Its a hit and miss for connecting to http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 I get a website found waiting for reply. If I then reset ammps then right away the site un-jams and loads.

Since no one gave me any more hints I figured it was something off with my win7 system, I read some info on how windows 7 uses port 80 etc, I thought I did everything to disable this but who knows....

As far as dns settings, I know when i'm on the local network and I dont want internet access I dont even need to fill out dns settings in windows and my networking works fine including access to web servers etc as long as I use the  local ip address of the server to access to it of course it wont work with a domain name unless I start messing around with the windows hosts file.

Anyhow I format a new computer this time bare bones with winxp pro. I installed ammps. And sure enough with all default settings im getting the same behaviour! But I was lucky this time that once in a while the website waiting for reply times out and i get a could not connect to database error, this is random and in a few mins it works again then stops and works.

So my guess is it has to do with some default mysql settings causing connection drop outs or timeouts?

so any ideas what settings in mysql I should check?
This has to be something simple!
:)

Hi,

I just checked your log again. And I think following things should solve your issue :

1. Open Apache Configuration from AMPPS Application -> Apache Tab -> Configuration. Search for the lines

#EnableMMAP off
#EnableSendfile off

2. Add the following line below it:

Win32DisableAcceptEx

3. Restart Apache.

If it still doesn't work. Remove comments from the first two lines, so it looks like this :

EnableMMAP off
EnableSendfile off

Win32DisableAcceptEx

Then restart apache.
