 IP v6 not working on the vps (7 Replies, Read 6340 times)

we added a new server with virtualizor on it, datacenter gave us a /64 range IP v6, which we added to the gateway on the IP v6 IP pool, and then we added to the vps,  but when assigning on vps any IP v6 to one of the sites there is no ping at all.

what are we doing wrong? on the main server we can ping the gateway.

Hi,

Was the vps stopped and started after adding ipv6 to it ?
If you still face issue, then please open a ticket to check it further.

I also have a similar problem.

Support has kindly added an IPv6 subnet to us, but I am unable to ping any IPv6 address from the container itself (it works perfectly when running it from the host).

This is the error:

root@test:/# ping6 2001:4860:4860::8888

From 2001:41d0::831 icmp_seq=3 Destination unreachable: Administratively prohibited
From 2001:41d0::831 icmp_seq=4 Destination unreachable: Administratively prohibited

I have googled around and people suggest disabling ip6tables. I have tried it, but it doen't change a thing.

I would appreciate your help so I can have IPv6 working on my containers FULLY, inbound and outbound.

Did you tried stopping ip6tables service on your server ?

As I mentioned already, I have tried stopping ip6tables but it hasn't worked.

You are right, though, thinking that the problem is there, as I thought I had stopped them successfully, but instead I get an error when trying:

# service ip6tables stop

My server used to run SolusVM before I switched to Virtualizor (blessed be the day that I did!) and I can see some weird content in my /etc/sysconfig/ip6tables

I guess this is the problem!

Please, can you paste here an example of what a standard ip6tables file for Virtualizor with IPv6 enabled is supposed to look like?

Or perhaps, please, even if I understand that I am asking for something beyond the scope of standard Virtualizor support, would you please be kind enough to inspect my server if I opened a ticket and fix this for me?

I really need to have IPv6 enabled and functioning properly.

I would appreciate it a lot!
