I want vps.domain.tld to open the client area.
Do i need to edit the nginx settings or can this be done with a SRV ns record?

you could set it to use the standard ports
https://www.virtualizor.com/wiki/Standard_Web_Ports

and set up A records  for vps.domain.tld

I think that wiki is outdated its not working at all

Works fine for me

this method only changes port 4083 to listed on port 443
