Hi there,
Really enjoying using Webuzo for simple Linux application deployment and management, and it was with great enthusiasm that I embraced the latest enhancement to the automatic backup process that involves saving OFFSITE.  As with the local backups, I see that I can restore them from the backup interface.  My question involves a scenario where I need to rebuild the server from scratch.  I assume I need to install fresh OS copy, download and install Webuzo as if I was a new user, and apply my license so that I have access to the backup app.  However, how do I restore the offsite backup to the server again?  Obviously looking to reduce the window of time needed to restore back to where I was. :)

Hi ruggieroav,

Currently, there is no way to achieve this.

We will provide a workaround in next version where users can transfer their remote backup to the fresh Webuzo server using a method that best suits them.

After that, they can execute a webuzo CLI command so that Webuzo recognizes that backup.

In future releases, we will directly provide a way so that a fresh Webuzo can add a remote backup which was done using a different server.

If you need this urgently please open a support ticket we will guide you there.

Nope, thankfully I don't need that functionality yet, but I am looking forward to any and all improvements in the backup (and restore) process.  This offsite backup was a long time in coming, and I am sure it will continue to be tweaked and perfected, like other Webuzo functions.  I'll be keeping an eye out for a future release.
