Title and description should say all there is to say... and ask... I know I can copy the site files from www directory no problem, but as for their corresponding database data, I'm at a loss. Please steer me clearly in the right direction. There must be some way to resolve this. Thanks.

I've found my databases located in ampps/var -- but I'm trying to move the contents from an external drive formatted as HFS+, which on my here Linux Mint machine is read-only. I am able to copy regular files over from it but not the aforementioned databases; error message states that I haven't even read permissions for them. Any ideas?
