Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 1 Status:	I am not sure I am clear with this option of Installed or Pre-downloaded scripts. When I go to Admin page and click on Software, then there is first column of check boxex and second one. If this first one is selected , this means what ? What does it means Installed and what Pre-downloaded ?

Group: Softaculous Team Post Group: Super Member Posts: 5652 Status:	Hi, In Softaculous 4.2.1 we have added the functionality to download the script packages only when atleast one user installs the script. Softaculous will download the package when the user clicks on the install button. The checbox for "Installed" means that the particular script is enabled for the user. If this checkbox is unchecked that script will be disabled for the user. And if the checkbox "Pre-downloaded" is selected for a particular script then the full package of the script will be downloaded on your server even if no user has attempted to install it. Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 35 Status:	Some related question... on this same screen, there are 2 columns of versions. For example, for Nucleus I see: Installed version: 3.64 (highlighted) version: 3.65 Installed [X] Pre-download [ ] Is it correct that, as my settings are now, it will stay at 3.64 until the newer version is actually needed? i.e. Until a client installs Nucleus for the first time or until an existing user updates his install. If my pre-download boxes were all ticked, I would see no highlighting, all software would have the most recent version always installed (2 column versions would be the same)? Is Enabled a more accurate label for that "Installed" column of checkboxes? Because if you are not pre-downloading, the software is not actually installed unless/until a client uses it. I started at 4.21, all my pre-download boxes are not checked, but they all show installed versions anyway. Does Softaculous install all softwares at initial installation or I must have chose that? (can't remember if it was an option) If I UNcheck an "Installed [aka enabled]" checkbox, will that remove the specific software package from the server?

When it is highlighted that means a new version of the package is available and will be downloaded by the CRON or if you click on "Update Settings" button. Version (3.65) : Refers the the latest version of that script package available in Softaculous. Installed : If this check box is selected that particular script will be available for installation to your users on the server. Pre-download : Since Softaculous 4.2.1 we have added the functionality to download the complete package for that script only if atleast one user installs that script of if "Pre-download" is selected. >> it will stay at 3.64 until the newer version is actually needed? No the new version will be downloaded via CRON. Softaculous will always download the latest packages (small package) for all the enabled scripts and complete package if pre-download is enabled. There are two types of packages i.e. Small package and Complete package. Small package contains the basic files of the package without the ZIP package of the script. If you are using a Premium version of Softaculous then Softaculous will enable all the 300 scripts and if you are using a Free version Softaculous will enable 54 scripts which are allowed in Free version. >> If I UNcheck an "Installed [aka enabled]" checkbox, will that remove the specific software package from the server?
