Hi after installation on Ubuntu20 for KVM, I am unable to login with my root account.

That can happen when the password for root user is not set.
Can you set a password for root user from SSH and then try to login as root on Admin panel ?

Interestingly, I have having the exact same issue. Have verified credentials are working, but still get "incorrect username or password" message when trying to log in.

Are you using Ubuntu on your server ?

Have you set root user password ?

many thanks for your response...

In case it helps others, in /etc/pam.d/common-password change the following line...

password      [success=1 default=ignore]      pam_unix.so obscure yescrypt

to...

password    [success=1 default=ignore]    pam_unix.so obscure sha256

This resolved the problem (OS is Debian)
