Hi,
I haven't worked with Dropbox or Google Drive. But I think it should work in the same way. Also if you are installing whole Ampps in Dropbox folder then please avoid that. You can simply share your web root directory (www) ----------------------- Follow AMPPS on, Twitter : https://twitter.com/AMPPS_Stack Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/softaculousampps Google+ : https://plus.google.com/+AmppsStack |

Hi,
Since you are using Google Drive/Dropbox. I am assuming you have two machine and both machine have Ampps, right ? Web Root Directory is the directory accessible from the Browser (Apache DocumentRoot). Now it is not necessary that it has to be Ampps/www, by creating virtual host you can set any directory as DocumentRoot. VirtualHosts are created by Ampps(we call it domains), you can specify the directory while creating domains. So specify the directory which is created in the Google Drive folder. I haven't tried this yet, but it should work. Create a domain from your other machine's Ampps with the directory in the Google Drive(which just got shared). If you want to use /Applications/Ampps/www you can move whole www folder to Google Drive and create a symlink of google drive www to /Applications/AMPPS/www Steps: 1. Create a Domain http://example.com with a path in the Google Drive. Add the entry in hosts file.(Ignore the red warning if any and check it anyway) 2. Put a test php file. And access the domain from your browser. 3. Confirm now that the directory in google drive is repliacted on your other machine. 4. Create a Domain in other Ampps with the same domain name or any other domain name but with the path of that directory which just got generated. (Same as 1st step) 5. Check if you can access the same test file from the browser. 6. You can install WordPress on the domains created by Ampps. You should get an option to select the domain in the install page of any script. So the CMS or any script installed will be shared between two machines. In case of www, just creating the symlink should work, install scripts normally, it should be shared.
