We are running a dedicated server via InMotion Hosting.
The server's OS is AlmaLinux - Linux 4.18.0-513.9.1.el8_9.x86_64 x86_64
We have ngnix employed which is doing a reverse proxy function to handle cache for Apache. We are having two issues from an operational perspective:
1. We cannot get any Office applications installed in NextCloud because of a requirement to stand-up a Collabora Office server outside of Nextcloud.
2. We are experiencing outages when PHP-FHP gets taxed and we have to keep increasing fhp_children and recycle the PHP-FHP service to get the NextCloud application running again.

We used the Softaculous product to install NextCloud but we cannot find a log of how Softaculous installed the NextCloud application and we have several questions about the decision process Softaculous used to set the application up:
1. How is memory configured for disk storage Ram and cache?
2. What base utilities were installed with NextCloud?
3. What system dependencies were considered to support the install of NextCloud in our OS environment?
4. Where are all the files stored for the NextCloud required directories (need file library structure)?
5. What performance settings were established on the initial installation?
6. Where and how are those performance settings established?

Thanks,
Rick

Hi,
>> 1. How is memory configured for disk storage Ram and cache?

This is configured by your web hosting provider so you will need to contact them for more information on this.

>> 2. What base utilities were installed with NextCloud?

All utilities that comes with default NextCloud package is installed by default. The installation via Softaculous is exactly same as you would have installed the app manually.

>> 3. What system dependencies were considered to support the install of NextCloud in our OS environment?

We followed the following requirements as stated by NextCloud :https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/installation/system_requirements.html

>> 4. Where are all the files stored for the NextCloud required directories (need file library structure)?

The files are stored in the public_html folder of your cPanel account. You can use the File Manager to access the files. And the data directory is created in your Home Directory which can also be accessed via File Manager.

>> 5. What performance settings were established on the initial installation?

The performance is based on your web server configuration which needs to be done from WHM. Softaculous does not configure the web server.

>> 6. Where and how are those performance settings established?

You will need to contact your hosting provider or cPanel team on how to configure these settings.

Thanks for your reply. I understand the reason for the general high-level answers here.

The NextCloud document you sent is what actually caused the reason for my post. The initial requirements do not list the OS we're running. Here is the list they state:
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (recommended)
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (recommended)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
Debian 12 (Bookworm)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
openSUSE Leap 15.5
CentOS Stream

Softaculous installed it anyway on our OS which is: Linux 4.18.0-513.9.1.el8_9.x86_64 x86_64

While I understand Linux it Linux, Different distributions can reek havoc when attempting to install and run applications. So I'll ask the question a different way:
What analysis does Softaculous do prior to offing an automated installation of an application to ensure it will actually install properly and operate properly? In the environment we're using?
