Topic : ampps 3.8: Localhost not found when change php to 7.1

Posted By: IceTater on March 12, 2019, 10:30 pm
Updated ampps 3.7 to 3.8 yesterday (Windows 10), then changed php version to 7.1.  Unable to access localhost.

Then did a clean install of ampps 3.8 on a different drive.  Changed php version to 7.1.

Localhost again no longer found.  Changed php back to 5.6, localhost found again.

WordPress 5.+ wants php 7.1 or higher.

Help, please.

I was able to get localhost access on a clean install available after:
  • uninstalling C++ Visual Studio 2017 redistributable re
installing C++ Visual Studio 2015 redistributable

although Apache frequently stops spontaneously for no apparent reason.

It would be nice if the user panel widget were visible but it apparently is visible only on lower resolution displays.

I still can't get ampps on my other drive (upgraded from 3.7 to 3.8) to change to php 7.1 and be able to access localhost.  The logs are completely blank.

I am also having the problem of not being able to load ampps on my other drive. I'm here waiting for a proper guide
