Topic : How many VM's can I create?

Posted By: binia on June 29, 2016, 3:12 pm
Hi,
I was wondering how to efficiently use resources of my server/s.
So say I have
2 x 4 core CPU with multi threading
128GB RAM
30TB storage space for VM's

So as you see, RAM and HDD space isn't an issue here.
Would like to create 2 vcore, 3GB RAM VM's with space depending on plan.
Usage on those resources might be from high to low per each VM, depending on what customer will do with it.
How many KVM VM's would be safe to create on this server to not overload ?
Is KVM best option or should I go with other available?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

Hi,

You can go with OpenVZ if you want just Linux vpses else Kvm is good .

Giving 3GB ram and 2vcpu with 50% , you can create 30-40 vpses .
However constant monitoring is recommended for the main server.

Hello,

Yes, I will also suggest you to please go with kvm virtualization, You will get good performance for your VM with the kvm.

Thanks for replies.
Yes, I will use KVM but having problem with WHMCS Module.
When creating VPS through Virtualizor admin panel, all works fine.
When creating through whmcs, VPS has no network and I can't even see advanced options of that KVM in admin panel...
Any ideas?

Well, managed to get VPS creating with network. Appears its our hook that tries to add our hostnames. Will work on that.
Having different problem, even though VPS created and working, there's no output in whmcs enduser panel. its empty :(
Rules added to iptables. Is there anything else I have to do?
