Topic : Alias set up through Alias Manager results in 404 error

Posted By: 6StringJazzer on June 30, 2024, 3:40 pm
Running AMPPS 4.3 on Windows 10, Chrome browser

I have had AMPPS working fine for a few years, then just upgraded to 4.3. Apparently this wiped out my existing configuration so I'm trying to set it up again.

I went to the Alias Manager at localhost/ampps/index.php?act=alias and added an alias. It shows the Alias added (let's call it MyDev) and the top-level folder (let's call it
C:\Users\Jeff\Dropbox\Web pages\personal\Development\JeffDev
where the index.html file resides.

When I enter
http localhost/MyDev/
I get a 404 error. This is a bookmark that worked under the prior installation.

I still haven't been able to figure out how to do this through the Alias feature, but I created directory junctions and that works just fine.
