directadmin allows 2 different php versions in custombuild.
if php 7.x is set as primary and php 5.x is secondary then sofyaculous gets ioncube errors even when the /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/php.ini is edited to point to a manually installed ioncube matching php version.

if php 5.x is chosen as primary (and 7.x secondary) ioncube works however some apps (in software-advanced) complain that 5.6 is to low a php version.

IOW a PITA and a mess if running multiple php versions.
fix it.

Hi,

In order to get the updated ioncube loader to be downloaded you can rename the following file in Softaculous folder :
Code
/usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/ioncube.ver

to
Code
/usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/ioncube.ver.bak

and then execute the CRON command :
Code
/usr/local/bin/php -d open_basedir="" -d safe_mode=0 -d disable_functions="" /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/cron.php

This should download the correct Ioncube loader for the current PHP version.

Do let us know if you still face the issue.

Hello,
I have the same problem, but cant run the cron command itself because of wrong ioncube version:

[me@myserver ~] # /usr/local/bin/php -d open_basedir="" -d safe_mode=0 -d disable_functions="" /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/cron.php
PHP Fatal error:  The file /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/admin/cron.php was encoded by the ionCube Encoder for PHP 5.6 and cannot run under PHP 7.1 or later.
Please ask the provider of the script to provide a version encoded with the ionCube Encoder for PHP 7.1. in Unknown on line 0

What to do now?
Thank you

Hi,

Ahh You are using 7.1, I assumed it was 7.0 when you mentioned 7.x in your previous reply.

In this case you will need to re-install Softaculous. This is because the files encoded with ionCube encoder for PHP 5.6 are not compatible with PHP 7.1 we have a separate package for that that has encoded files with ionCube encoder for PHP 7.1 which works on PHP 7.1 and 7.2

You can refer to the following guide on how to re-install Softaculous :
https://www.softaculous.com/docs/Reinstall

This is a restriction of ionCube that the encoded files do not work with all PHP versions so when you install or upgrade Softaculous it detects the current PHP version and downloads the appropriate package.

If you still face the issue please open a support ticket with us so that we can check this for you :
