Hi All,

i'm new here, just curious and wanna ask.
is it possible if i have a development site(joomla) in my local, and i want to deploy it into my live host using softacolous, so that in the future it may not have any issue on update patches on joomla or security?

Hi,

At the moment it is not possible to do this with one click.

However you can do it manually. You will need to upload the files/database and update the database details in configuration.php with the database details on your server and replace any instances of url or path of your local server with the one of your server in the database.

I am not sure if this is still open and my skills are limited so I wonder if the following would work.

1 Create a staging site using softaculous.
2 Duplicate the site from online staging to local. I use laragon and Duplicator pro. I noted that the database name remains the same.
3 make changes etc in the local site
4 Duplicate site from local to online staging
5 push changes

Thanks in advance for the reply.

Hi,

We are working on the Push the site from local machine to a live server and will be adding it to AMPPS soon.

That would be a great improvement. In the meanwhile, I tested my proposal. Quite some (easy) steps, but it works!
