Quote phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

For me at this step `./mysqld --skip-grant-tables` my phpMyAdmin works again but the rest of the code gives me an error that looks like this
Quote ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
And after a while (lets say 10 minutes) I get the phpMyAdmin lock out screen again. I have no idea what I did wrong. This weekend I was testing the wp-cli and I think I did something wrong at some point, but I couldn't trace my steps back.
