Topic : Why Cron jobs runs on GMT and not on server timezone?

Why does cron jobs not run on user set server timezone? Why it always runs on GMT?
It is difficult to set timings of cron jobs as per the GMT as each and every time has to be converted to GMT first then set. Later also while looking to it, it is not understandable as to what time this job is scheduled, we need to convert it to local time to understand.

Any comment?

Hi Irfanalam123,

CRON JOBS always runs on server time, please check the Time Zone for your server.

Where have you set the timezone in PHP?

I have set timezone from here

Hi Irfanalam123,

That setting only affects the time on the Control Panel and doesn't change the TimeZone on the server level.

To adjust your server timezone according to your local timezone please contact your System Admin or VPS provider
