I'm using Webuzo on a VPS. I would like to change the folder which is used to store the web files of the primary domain.
The reason for this is that the files of all the other domains get stored as folders under the primary domain. When the primary domain itself has a lot of folders and files (as is the case when you install a CMS like Joomla or WordPress), then the secondary domain folders are mixed up with the primary domain folders.

It would be much neater if I could install each one in its own separate folder, not mixed up with the folders of the primary domain — like this:

public_html

- primary domain folder

  -- primary domain sub-folders and files

- secondary domain 1 folder

  -- secondary domain 1 sub-folders and files

- secondary domain 2 folder

  -- secondary domain 2 sub-folders and files

NOT like this (which is the case at present):

public_htm

  -- primary domain sub-folders and files

  -- secondary domain 1 main folder

        --- secondary domain 1 sub-folders and files

    -- secondary domain 2 main folder

        --- secondary domain 2 sub-folders and files

If there isn't a way of moving the primary domain's folder, is there another way of accomplishing the same? E.g. with symlinks, or something to that effect?

Thanks for the assistance!

Hi,

The document root for the primary domain cannot be changed.

However while adding sub-domains or addon domains you can choose the path outside public_html folder which will be working the same.

E.g. primarydomain.com -> /home/username/public_html
addondomain1.com -> /home/username/addon1
addondomain2.com -> /home/username/addon2
subdomain1.com -> /home/username/sub1
subdomain2.com -> /home/username/sub2

This should help you achieve what you need.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Bullshit!

One should be given the freedom to change the primary domain directory at will or change the primary domain altogether????

Now, how do I change /home/cprepkeb/public_html/cpres.co TO: /home/cprepkeb/public_html for my primary domain

That was added automatically during import from cpanel, but the website files are located in /public_html

Hi,

It looks like you want to change the primary domain of your account.

You need to contact your web hosting provider and ask them to change the primary domain of your account (from Edit User page in admin panel) to cpres.co and then it will point to public_html folder on your account.

Please try to use this guide to change the working directory:

However, the guide doesn't work for the primary domain.

What should I do?

Hi,
Sir it is not possible to change primary domain path.If you want to change primary domain path you have to change primary domain and then add your old primary domain as a addon domain then you will get edit path option. also you can change addon domain or subdomain path whenever you want.
If you have access of admin panel of webuzo you can edit the user and change the primary domain from there.If you dont have access of webuzo admin panel you can ask to your provider where you have get the access of end-user panel.
