Hi,

Ma question is very 'simple'.
Assume that i've downloaded a Softaculous backup on my local PC (W10).
Is it possible to restore a site from this local downloaded backup ?

Hi,

You can restore the backup if the installation url, path and control panel username is the same.

If this is not same you will face issues.

Last point.
Is it necessary to put the backup back in the Softaculous backup default directory to be able to restore the site?

Hi,

If you would like to restore via Softaculous yes you need to put it in the Softaculous backups directory.

If you would like to restore it manually you can do it from any location. Here is the guide on how to restore a backup manually :
