Topic : Problem reusing an old addon domain

Posted By: JasperL on June 5, 2014, 7:13 pm
Hi

I'm running v2.4 on Mac and have had an issue with Addon domains.

It seems that the first time I add any given domain as an addon domain, it works as expected.  However if I delete that domain, wait and then re-add the same domain, pointing to the same location, the domain fails to work.

After re-adding, the domain is present in my hosts file, and I can ping it from the terminal, but neither Safari or Chrome will let me navigate there.

I've tried this with other addon domains, and have the same issue.

Hi, Sorry - Managed to fix the issue - it seemingly was finding the domain but a .htaccess file was blocking access.  All fixed.

Many thanks

Jasper

If you are local and htacess points to a local directory on your computer how can it then be blocked by htaccess?

I work mostly offline Local with ampps server.  If all is done i upload Live.

Now i worked the other way around so i work now Live and then i download the site dirs to my computer.  I put them to the ampps/www/ folder...then i upload my sql file but i get a 5x0 error access to my page.

I already replaced the config files to local settings and i checked this that it points to the right dirs.

Can you explain more how you managed it or can somebody else here explain more.

Basicly its simple to install a local or live site.  Upload the dirs/change the htaccess file/change the config files for catalog and admin dirs (opencart shop system) / upload the sql file....what am i missing?
