 WP not downloading or installing, Ampps installed but WP download hangs (6 Replies, Read 7433 times)

Status:
1. Today I installed the current version of Ampps on Windows 7.
2. I completed the Softaculous WP install script and clicked "Install".
3. It appeared to be downloading because the circular icon was rotating.
4. However, it kept rotating for over an hour without actually downloading or installing.

Any ideas where I might have gone wrong?
