You must correct the path in the file mentioned below. For example  "E:/Ampps/apache/logs/ssl_error.log"  necessary to modify the line in this way
"(your ampps path)/apache/logs/ssl_error.log"

(installpath)/apache/conf/httpd.conf and (installpath)/apache/conf/extra/httpd-ssl.conf

good days.

Hi

If your Apache is not Working.
Go to Your Ampps/apache/conf/extra folder.
Open httpd-ssl.conf
clear all data and save it.

Open httpd-autoindex.conf
Replace all occurrences of E:\ampps with $path
and save it

If you face the issue related MSVCR110.dll
make sure that you have installed Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 : VC11 vcredist_x64/86.exe
follow this link: http://www.apachelounge.com/download/

Download VC11 vcredist_x64/86.exe and Install it.

Now Run Apache.
Please let us know if you still facing the same issue.

:-( I can't get Apache to start.

Fixed the directory paths in the config files under my ampps apache installation.

Confirmed that the Visual Studio redistributable files were installed.

Downloaded a zip file but the readme.txt suggested using an *.msi file instead.  Couldn't find the appropriate msi file ( httpd-2.4.xx-win64-x64-openssl-1.0.1x.msi ).  Anyone have a link so I can just reinstall ampps 2.8 until all the bugs get fixed?

I have a php class and need ampss.  I was a fool to try to update until the class was over (3 more weeks) but prior updates worked fine.

Hi there,
I am new to installing AMPPS and have changed the file paths like you said to and have installed the above. Now when I click on start Apache it just makes the box outline flash white and then back to its normal colour.
Please help as I need to get this installed ASAP so that I can get to work on a website that I tried to gain access to via the FIleZilla client. My web developer lecturer recommended I use AMPPS as it was quick and easy way to install Wordpress.
Thanks, Jacob.

Hi Jacob,

I've been using ampps for about 8 weeks and when it works, it works well.  For your classes you might try the older version 2.8 (see link above).

That version installed seamlessly and worked very well for me.

All I needed to do for the initial (then 2.7) installation was to make sure I had the proper Visual C++ libraries.

The update from 2.7 to 2.8 was easy, so I'm baffled as to why 2.9 has been such a problem.

Good luck.

I had the same problem and i followed these guidelines it worked fine excluding the minor problem of the pop up error "new updates".
1 Open C:/Ampps/apache/conf/extra folder.  And Open "httpd-ssl.conf" in file editor like notepad++ and delete all the texts and then click save.
2 Open C:/Ampps/apache/conf/extra folder.  And Open  "httpd-autoindex.conf" in file editor like notepad++ and edit it by replace two  occurrences of "E:\ampps" with "$path" and then click save.

Right I have tried the changing of everything that is $path to where it exists on my laptop and that didn't work. So I am going to uninstall 2.9 and install 2.8. I hope that 2.8 will work and is there anything else I need to know about 2.8. Changes to any configure files or anything???

Thanks, Jacob.

installed 2.8 and Apache works but MySQL doesn't want to start up. Anyone got any clues on how I could solve this?
Thanks, Jacob

Jacob,

I'm not having problems with MySQL other than clobbering my data since I was careless and didn't make a good backup.

You might look at these possible solutions:

http://www.softaculous.com/board/index.php?tid=4098&tpg=all&title=MySQL_not_starting_up

and/or this:

http://jdoscodez.blogspot.com/2014/04/fix-random-mysql-fail-in-ampps-windows-7.html

Please let us other users know if either of those solutions work, or not.

Good luck!

Hi IceTater,

Once AMPPS is up and running and it closes itself, then go to the taskbar and click on arrow pointing up, right click on AMPPS logo and then go to AMPPS home.

So it looks like you don't need MySQL but the problem does still exist.

Also note that the above two links aren't exactly a great help guides as they want you to get rid of the data that is automatically generated by AMPPS every time you start it up.

Thanks, Jacob.
