install pear, no pear directory in php (2 Replies, Read 7441 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 2 Status:	I am unable to install pear for ampps. I am running ampps 6.0 with php 7.4. Every time I try to install pear I get this error message: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&' in E:\Ampps\php74\go-pear.phar on line 67317 Is this a pear bug or am I not installing this properly on ampps?

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 2 Status:	Thank you for your help. After many attempts to get go-pear.phar to work I found out that the file was corrupt. I solved the problem by this command to create a brand new file to install. php -r "copy('http://pear.php.net/go-pear.phar', 'go-pear.phar');" This worked and installed directly into the ampps directory.
