following directions to install Softaculous onto my Xubuntu Xenial Xerus 16.04 LTS, onto my Asus X102BA AMD64. *** (1) XAMPP attempt *** $ sudo mv softaculous /opt/lampp/htdoc $ sudo chown daemon /opt/lampp/htdocs/softaculous $ sudo chown 775 /opt/lampp/htdocs/softaculous $ sudo chown -R daemon /opt/lampp/htdocs/softaculous $ sudo find /opt/lampp/htdocs/softaculous -type f -exec chmod 664 {} \; $ sudo find /opt/lampp/htdocs/softaculous -type d -exec chmod 775 {} \; $ sudo adduser splu daemon ...useless: $ sudo adduser root splu Softaculous path --->> /opt/lampp/htdocs/softaculous AMP path --->> /opt/lampp PHP path --->> /opt/lampp/bin/php Scripts path --->> /opt/lampp/scripts Private Folder --->> /opt/lampp/private Document Root --->> /opt/lampp/htdocs MySQL Root Password --->> "leave blank" check "ionCube" to be installed. ######################################################################### *** (2) with WEBUZO *** It be better a fresh install without XAMPP ...uninstall XAMPP... $ sudo apt-get remove php7.0 $ wget http://files.webuzo.com/install.sh $ sudo ufw status $ sudo ufw disable $ chmod 755 install.sh $ sudo ./install.sh In case of failure: uninstall by... $ sudo rm -rf /usr/local/apps $ sudo rm -rf /usr/local/webuzo $ sudo rm -rf /usr/local/emps $ sudo rm -rf /var/webuzo $ sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mysql $ sudo rm -rf /var/softaculous $ sudo rm -rf /etc/mysql $ sudo rm -rf /etc/httpd/conf.d/webuzo.conf $ sudo rm -rf /etc/httpd/conf.d/webuzoVH.conf ######################################################################### Attempt (1) says all installation went ok, but did not install any folder nor a file at all!! I bet I was mistaking working as 'daemon' (like wordpress does) instead of 'soft' (at the end of all I found 'soft' user on my system (disabled)). Does Softaculous use 'soft' as user account? Attempt (2) executed as 'root' yet says installation successfull. And in fact it installed half a dozen folders but I cannot find any launcher. I tried to get inside the folder where 'webuzo' is located so launch it, response: 'hacker attempt' Please help. Bye, 20170928, SplugenBrau. |

Sorry for the delay in response. 1. For the Softaculous install on XAMPP can you please make the following folders writable : /opt/lampp/scripts /opt/lampp/private Also you can access Softaculous at : http://localhost/softaculous/enduser Can you please let us know what output you get when you access the above URL ? 2. Regarding the Webuzo install, please access the Webuzo panel at port 2002.
