Hello.

I wanted to know if there are step by step instructions for installing a active Moodle from a remote server? I have done this before and think I know how to do it, but I have a little concern, and don't want to miss any steps and cause our Moodle install to be at risk. I have done the following.
1. added information to the list of installs
2. then I have gone to the page to install or import Moodle software.
3. I choose import since I importing from another server I choose remote server
4. Then I'm required to place in  the source information which I place in.
Then there's a place for the destination information (not sure about this) can you please advise. I not sure if the destination is just wanting me to match what I have added to the list of installs or not. is this the same information your placing in both the source and destination?
Please advise. & Thank you for your help! :)

Hi,

If you want to import the installations from remote server you need to do the following steps:

1) you need to visit the moodle page then click on import tab and select import from remote server.

2) Fill in the working source server ftp details where your moodle exist.

3)choose the destination (this is your current server where you want to import the moodle installation and you can choose the domain under which domain you want your remote installation or if you want you can specify the directory as well if you want it in subdirectory under the domain).

4)That's it now click on import button then you will see the process will go in background and after completion you will get the email notification(make sure if you have set your email in email setting) and also you can track the process from task list page at the top right.
