Topic : PrestaShop cannot be installed in a subdirectory

I've got this error message saying that from PrestaShop 8.1.1 onwards it will not be possible to install it to a subdirectory.
To develop and demo to customers I've been always doing it in a subdirectory in my own domain and only after finished I transfer it to the customers. Now it is not possible.
I've checked in PrestaShop support foruns and the problem might be from Softaculous because if we download PrestaShop from GitHub and install it manually everythingg goes fine.
Is this real?

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

We discovered that the Prestashop Github package and website package aren't same. In which the Github package works in a sub directory and website package works only in a root directory. Hence to avoid any confusion we have opened an issue on their forum. (Where you have also commented)

Once we get any reply from the Prestashop team on to which package should be taken, we shall proceed further.
