Topic : Wordpress - Subdirectory Redirection

Posted By: Lowibu on October 29, 2018, 10:21 am
I have had some issues with redirecting my Wordpress subfolder installation to the root domain (i.e. "domain(.)com/wordpress" -> "domain(.)com" while keeping WP installed in the subdirectory). I have followed the WP codex guide to redirecting through .htaccess and index.php modification, but cannot get the site to display anything but "domain(.)com/wordpress." Editing the site address in WP General Settings does not work either.
Do I need to edit the installation details in the Softaculous Apps Installer service in my host's cPanel? After adding the redirection to .htaccess and index.php, should I also edit the URL to the root domain there?
Additionally, I should have Let's Encrypt SSL active through the host but the site does not show https. Is that the same issue with the installation details URL being incorrect as it shows http?
Thank you!

generally htaccess is used for redirection or else there are wordpress plugins which can be used. i did same by using htaccess for redirection but however don't know much about single directory redirection.
